When I come across something in my life that I think I can't accomplish, I think about both this film and the ideal that it represents. Sure, Fitzcarraldo is driven to the point of insanity, but his drive should be envied nontheless, and should provoke awe and inspiration in anyone who takes in the nuanced perfection of this film.
