Review of Fist Fight (2017) by Tony M — 25 Feb 2017
Standard, trite, mildly diverting. Fist Fight is tailor made for Redbox rentals, since its fleet run time and small premise mean it both has too much time to tell its story and too little to make an impression.
The overall spirit - foul mouthed, public school based, farcical tone - is fun enough, and I'll be the first to admit I'm a sucker for wide release R-Rated comedies. One thing that really bothered me, though, was the amount of jokes made about a teacher who wants to have sex with her students.
That's the type of character that should be the villain in a film like this (not that there really is a villain?), not a supporting character. Christ.
