Review of Fish Tank (2009) by Jinny C — 24 Mar 2010
The movie runs about half an hour too long, but the movie, in all its steadicam glory, is so realistic that it's easy to fall in.
Couldn't take my eyes off Katie Jarvis. Get this: it's her inexperience that's so compelling. It's not that she's unable to act, it's that she brings a fresh boldness to the screen; she is unafraid, as if she knows this will be her first and last film.
Just a warning to those of you who plan to see it: her dancing is intentionally bad.
As for Michael Fassbender, he was superb: I really hated him.
