Review of Fish Tank (2009) by Jordan D — 04 May 2010
Snap portrait of a life begins trudgingly but is saved by excellent performances and a script that is genuinly suspenseful, in a real life kinda way. Even when the movie moves into even darker territory it keeps from settling into a bleak mood or melo-drama.
A solid performance from the young lead is only strengthened by all the supporting roles. A minor peace, yes, as most "real life" snap-shot films are, but still highly engaging.
