Review of Fish Tank (2009) by Nicole R — 23 Jan 2011
Fish Tank affected me in totally unexpected ways. It is powerful, brutal and shockingly beautiful. The characters are so real its uncanny. The direction is supremely polished and the entire film is distinctly charming.
The plot is a relatively simple coming-of-age drama but the story is totally far from ordinary. It is uniquely brilliant and fantastically told. The totally unknown Katie Jarvis leads this film with a great performance that really makes the entire movie matter.
I'll be blunt: This film was incredible.
