Review of Fish Tank (2009) by Connor _ — 18 Apr 2011
Not unlike anything we've seen before, particularly similar to 'An Education', but in Andrea Arnold's defense, the two came out in the same year. Michael Fassbender has had literally about 10 movies in the span of 2009-2011 (which is a lot for an actor in leading/strong supporting roles), so I've been eager to finally see one.
I was skeptical, but he was the best part of the film, and I can't wait for my next Fassbender film. Katie Jarvis lives up to expectations, although the screenplay didn't quite. But nonetheless one of the better original screenplays of the year, although there hasn't been many quality originals in 2009.
It's a typical low-budget independent, nothing special, but its one of the better ones. B+.
