Review of Fish Tank (2009) by Dave L — 30 Dec 2011
"Fish Tank" is a critically acclaimed film where a bunch of reviews talk about the neo-realism of British life in Essex and how wonderfully this film portrayed it. The movie sucks! Mia Williams (played by a good Katie Jarvis) wanders around the streets of Essex.
She is lonely and feels isolated. We generate some sympathy for her and the situation she is in. Her mother gets a boyfriend (played by Michael Fassbender- who is becoming an extraordinary actor) whom the girl fantasizes about and who eventually becomes a pedophile.
The greatest problem is the plot- a meandering and senseless storyline that dulls our nerves.
