Review of Fish Tank (2009) by Jennifer C — 27 Jul 2012
I think Mark Deming who wrote the info did not watch the movie. There was no ugly battle over a man, the mother never knew what was going on. The mother daughter conflict had absolutely nothing to do with the boyfriend as its clearly been going on long before he arrives.
Not sure where he pulled that from. Also Mia, while obviously attracted to Connor, never appears to knowingly set out to seduce him, but seems to genuinely act like a typical uninformed teenager, completely unaware of where it could all lead.
She never gives the impression she is trying to steal the boyfriend, just making her way through feelings and hormones. Yes, there is certainly lots of conflict in the house, but I don't think its of the "don't steal my man" variety.
