Coming of age presented through the gritty reality of the projects of England. Fish Tank's greatest strength is a writer/director that refuses to portray a world of black & white. These are complex people in complex circumstances.
The acting, cinematography and control of tone are all excellent. If only the film's structure was a bit tighter and didn't leave things feeling a bit anti-climactic...
