Review of First They Killed My Father (2017) by Sarun C — 19 Sep 2017
The film takes an artistic approach through the unique perspective of a child. With her innocence, we as the audience, is left to reflect and digest what is happening around us as the film unfolds. With little information, we as the viewers are left with a sense of survival and wanting more information to see a light at the end of the tunnel.
This is actually a very intentful because she as the child couldn't predict what will happen to her or her country next. All we are left with is hope to live and the hope that our lost family members were still alive, somewhere, out there.
