Review of First Snow (2006) by Jacek S — 27 Feb 2009
Great build up 'til the end, which can be seen ending as it does, but not quite (some partly irrelevant things are left to surprise). The movie is more about the journey / means - not the end. It's at it's most thrilling near the middle, but yet, at it's most interesting near the end.
Complex, psychological characters complete with good acting (as far as I can tell). The evolution of the character's psyche isn't just towards more paranoid etc. A salesman as the main character is also somewhat original.
The movie's a pearl, maybe hidden inside a shell of a-basic-thriller (which is something I don't know too much about due to avoiding too much of a thrill).
