Review of First Reformed (2018) by Nadia C — 07 Aug 2018
Beside the great performance of Ethan Hawke the movie didn't move me at all or almost. At the beginning I was feeling empathy for him, for losing his son and still find a way to live his life and help other people in some way.
But when he started to embrace the idea of becoming a kamikaze I saw it as a sign of weakness. He's a lost soul without a purpose. Maybe he may find his salvation in Amanda Seyfried character, but we don't get to see it.
It's just annoying that it ended so abruptly without a proper ending.
