Review of First Man (2018) by Scott R — 14 Oct 2018
You see two types of reviews for this film. Outstanding or Boring. Many can't appreciate art because they don't know what it is. And others can't accept a movie that doesn't have gigantic alien cgi battle scenes.
This movie is one man's view of selecting the first man and developing the first craft to land on the moon. If you were alive at thr time you know the whole world watched in wonder and understood it was a giant leap for mankind and it's still one of the greatest achievements for man.
This is a near masterpiece that breaks the mold. The closeups were welcome, the character development stuble yet strong. This is not a movie for the Big Bang laugh track lovers, nor is it SciFi or a Marvel/DC blockbuster. But for those who lived it or still remember the triumph it shows us another view with outstanding performance.
