Review of First Kid (1996) by Tommy M — 08 Nov 2009
A typical family movie that does everything it should; establish the main character (usually a kid), give them a conflict, maybe introduce a friend/mentor to help skew them in the right direction, and then resolve the conflict step-by-step.
The only real surprise of the film is that Sinbad actually fares well as a comedian-turned actor. Aside from that, the film pretty much plays by the book of its genre. Some might call it a repetitive routine, but in this case, what other book or routine does Disney possess?
