Review of First Blood (1982) by John R — 20 May 2012
Surprisingly insightful and compelling, First Blood wasn't the action flick I was expecting. While First Blood of course provides action and such, it also speaks about how post-Vietnam veterans were perceived after the world saw the wars' horrific consequences, how war trauma can wage such a significant toll on the psyche of even the military's most skilled soldiers, and how soldiers aren't always heralded as heroes on their return home.
