Review of First Blood (1982) by Ben C — 23 Mar 2015
Alongside Rocky and Rocky Balboa, I have to say that this is one of Stallone's better films before he experimented with The Expendables. It is also a reasonable interpretation with the traumatisations of a Vietnam War Veteran, feeling what they would've felt if they were to live to tell the tale.
It was an outstanding performance for Sylvester Stallone, and Richard Crenna (being a surprise choice to me) has played a role that was believable. The one flaw with this movie is the ending: Unlike the novel, Rambo lives, though I could understand why Stallone would refuse to allow the supposed protagonist to be killed off.
