Review of Fireproof (2008) by Mercedes B — 20 May 2010
An awfully bad, typical and cliched film to an almost unbearable degree. I give it an extra half star just because it has THE message of film messages, quite actually the most accurate and truthful advice ever given concerning marriage.
I've read comments that say "The Very Best Movie you will see this year. It will get no awards from Hollywood, because its a Christian Based Movie.".
To that, I reply with two points:
1) Hollywood awards usually suck balls. So getting one is sometimes not a good sign of quality.
2) You must be a Christian, not a person that recognizes good cinema when you see it. This was worse than Ladder 49.
