Review of Fireproof (2008) by Angela R — 23 May 2012
Unfortunately, the preachiness overwhelms the emotion of this film. I kind of expected that considering the production team, but it's a bit disappointing that the characters are outshined by the constant reminders that divorce is evil no matter what.
That's not always the case. But once I learned to get past the holier-than-thou reminders of how terrible society is, I could see the sweetness of the story and the quality of the acting. Without the irritating presence of Kirk Cameron it probably would have been more enjoyable, but overall it's not a bad movie.
