Review of Fireproof (2008) by Kristin W — 07 Aug 2009
Very good independent film. It starts out a bit rocky, but finds its footing and progresses in an effective, emotional way. Some of it raised questions that were never fully answered in my mind, but I appreciate the underlying message of marriage perserverence and the power of faith.
As for the acting -- well, with out Kirk Cameron, there would have been real trouble here. His fellow firemen did OK, but it took awhile for me to totally believe his wife and parents.
The actions scenes were better than I would have expected. They actually surprised me. Considering that the film has a very low budget, it holds up well.
