Fireproof is not a great movie, the acting is really uneven, the script at times gets corny but it has a real heart of sincerity. There aren't too many movies out there that would even come close to dealing with the subject matter that this movie goes into for the simple reason that its too "common".
Its got no bells & whistles, no exploding cars or gun wielding fiends. With so many marriages going down the tubes, I think its great that a movie like this exists in an effort to deal with the core issue of break-ups.
.. selfishness.
