Review of Firehouse Dog (2007) by Scott S — 15 Oct 2009
When I first heard about this movie, I really wanted to see this because Josh Hutcherson is a pretty good actor in my opinion, and it looked pretty entertaining. When I did see it, I liked it more than I did now, but I don't really like it anymore, its just stupid, lame, and unfunny.
Firehouse Dog is a really stupid movie. The story is what makes it stupid. Its about a dog that used to be famous who falls out of a plane, and lives. Then, that dog meets a kid and hangs with him, then the dog becomes a fireman dog. That is really stupid to me. Its poorly written, boring, and stupid.
Firehouse Dog actually had some chuckles. It had no laugh out loud moments but a few chuckles. It could have been way funnier but it wasn't unfunny, just not that funny. Lots of these new kids movies like this aren't funny at all.
Firehouse Dog looks really fake. The visual effects look like crap. I mean, look at the scene where Rex falls out of the plane, that looks horrible. Pretty much every other scene in the movie looks really lame and fake. The visual effects are horrible.
Believe it or not, Firehouse Dog actually had decent acting and voice acting. Like I said before, Josh Hutcherson is actually a good actor in my opinion. Some of the actors and voice actors weren't that good, but weren't pitiful. Firehouse Dog has decent acting and voice acting.
Firehouse Dog is not a good movie. Younger viewers may like it (like 4-6 year olds). Older viewers won't like it. I recommend it for a family movie night film but not for teenagers, because older viewers won't like it. Firehouse Dog could use some work and I didn't like it.
Score: 3.6/10.
