Review of Firefox (1982) by Hans J. E — 22 Aug 2010

Having not seen this since I was a kid I had pretty low expectations. But guess what? Firefox is STILL cool. And another thing: there's a pretty interesting cloak and dagger story about entering and infiltrating communist Russia and the airbase - a story I'd totally forgotten about (perhaps kids just want aerial combat and none of that grownup bullshit).

Yeah OK, about the aerial combat then. It's pretty obvious it's not real footage but I gotta say there's still a good feel about it. Clint actually performs manouvers only russian jets can do (the controlled stall/brake) and when he fucks up and goes into a spin he pushes the stick diagonally forward to unfuck himself - just like a real pilot!

So if you're a flight buff like me, you'll dig this old story. For a brief moment, you might just miss the cold war. Well, it happened to me at least ;).
