Review of Firefox (1982) by Dave B — 06 May 2008
The 3 stars are for the last part of the movie once Firefox takes to the air and for the score. Other than that it's a rather bland and boring spy movie. But I think the aerial scenes, the great music and the technology of the Firefox makes this well worth having in my DVD collection.
On a side note, the MIG-31 Firefox of the book was actually more like the real world MIG-31 Foxhound, but when the film came out, the author, Craig Thomas, thought Eastwood had done a better version of the plane than he'd envisaged. He also thought Eastwood made the perfect Mitchell Gant to the point that he announced that "Clint Eastwood, pilot of the Firefox".
