It seemed like the production team knew where they wanted to go but just did not now how to get there. I say this because the beginning of the film seemed extremely forced and as a result unfunny. However, about half way through the film, everything about the movie (from the dialogue to the performances) seemed more relaxed and comfortable; as a result, the comedy was much more honest and funny.
