Review of Fired Up! (2009) by Monty H — 17 Dec 2012
Actually funny movie about 2 football players named Nick and Shawn, who decide to hang at cheerleader camp instead of practicing football for the summer. The goal is to score chicks. But when Shawn falls for the captain of the cheerleader squad things get all twisted. Funny performances from the lead especially Eric Christian Olsen as Nick, even though Olsen is like 30 years old in real life. But it's all in good fun. Margo Harshman nearly steals the movie as one of the cheerleaders named Slyvia, whose favorite quote "just saying". Also Juliette Goglia as Shawn's younger sister Poppy is a trip and a half. Not quite as good as the cheer classic Bring It On, but still worth watching. And there are endless classic quotes in this movie that are quite funny.
Shawn Colfax: I know you want to be here, because you finish last every single year, but you still keep coming back! Even if it means taking endless shit from total dong-knockers like the Panthers!
Sylvia: I wanna cut the blonde one!
Nick Brady: What?
Sylvia: What?
Nick Brady: What?
Sylvia: ...I'm just saying.

Nick Brady: Bottomless breadsticks only keep you at the Olive Garden for so long, until at some point you look up and say 'Why the hell am I at the Olive Garden with all these fat people?'.
