Terrific alien abduction film. Supposedly based on a true story which certainly doesn't hurt its creepiness. A little different from most abduction movies in that it is a seriously taken character driven film.
It approaches the event from more of an aftermath point of view rather than the event itself, and does a very good job of developing its characters. The script is good, and the acting is quite solid. Alot of good veteran actors like Patrick and Garner add some credibility and deliver pretty good performances. The score is a little bit of a detraction for me, as it some of it was very obtrusive and took your head out of the story.
All of these things might have graded out to a 3 or 3 1/2 star rating had it not been for the climax scene. Hands down one of the creepiest, most harrowing scenes I can ever recall witnessing. It gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. For me, it adds a whole star onto this rating. Its that good/disturbing/scary.
In summation, this is a very well done film that offers alot in its slowly building story, technical execution and creep factor. If you like alien movies, you will enjoy this one.
