Review of Finding Neverland (2004) by James H — 10 Oct 2009
We all know of the story of Peter Pan, but we have never seen how that story was made. This was brilliant because we saw how the story developed and how huge it was back then. The director, Marc Forster has a way of making films with a lot of charm.
There's also a lot of charm to the way Johnny Depp plays James Barrie. Kate Winslet is exquisite and Radha Mitchell is lovely as Barrie's wife. The young performers were also very talented, most notably Freddie Highmore as Peter.
The script is great and I loved the character development and his relationship with the family he meets. The dialogue is great because there were some terrific lines in the film. Some of the scenes were visually fantastic and they even added in some childish special effects that work well with this film.
Is this good film? YES! It's a drama that everyone should have a taste of.
