Review of Finding Neverland (2004) by Paul R — 04 Mar 2011
Johnny Depp plays J.M. Barrie, the writer who created Peter Pan. The film deals with Barrie's inspiration for the play, which comes directly from his relationship with a widow (Kate Winslet) and her children with whom he forms a strong bond.
It is tender and heart-warming with excellent performances all round. It's a lovely story of innocence and imagination. Where some films can suffer from being overly sweet, sickeningly so, Finding Neverland doesn't and hits the mark quite perfectly.
You'll certainly be glad you've watched it.
