Review of Finding Neverland (2004) by Matt M — 16 Feb 2013
The fictionalised tale of the family that inspired Scottish playwright J.M. Barrie to write the most loved tale of Peter Pan. The whole film is a treat, with a combination of human dramatic sequences and fantastic scenes that let us delve into a creative writer's flights of fantasy.
Though sometimes its nature seems to lie within the boundaries of the perennial tear jerker, its soul is also revealed as a manifesto for the rejection of maturity and a childish wish to keep dreaming that is also found in Barrie's work.
