Review of Finding Nemo (2003) by Genaro C — 19 Jul 2013
Much of the strength of Finding Nemo lies in its animation and vocal work. The former is absolutely incredible to look at, even after a decade, and the latter benefits greatly from Albert Brooks. Unlike most, I find Ellen DeGeneres' voice to be slightly more shrilly than amusing, and I didn't find Willem Defoe effective as Gill, probably because his voice is too recognizable.
The character Crush has always been a thorn in my side and Nemo himself nearly kills the movie early on with his deliberate impudence. Even so, there is such delight from the images, and some of the humor, especially from the dentist's office, that one can't help but enjoy the experience.
