Review of Finding Forrester (2000) by Rich B — 19 Dec 2008
Finding Forrester (2000): "You're the man now, dog." - William Forrester.
Jamal Wallace is a gifted teenage athlete and a gifted writer living in a run-down neighborhood in New York. He's not the only one who's gifted in that neighborhood.
A good story brought to the screen by a first class crew. Gus Van Sant directs: he's got the way when it comes to getting young actors to act naturally. The film is admirably shot by Harris Savides (Milk / American Gangster). The music team worked some magic here.
Oh, and this film has my favorite actor of all time - Mr. Sean Connery.
"Why is it that the words we write for ourselves are always so much better than the words we write for others." - William Forrester.
