Review of Finding Forrester (2000) by Tony P — 25 Apr 2009
Although Good Will Hunting does everything better, Finding Forrester is still blessed with Van Zant's alluring craft and a structurally sound screenplay. Sean Connery's performance is refined and delicate, which couples well with the untrained realism of Rob Brown.
On the other side of the spectrum, Anna Paquin is straight up awful... so there's that. A triumphant climax followed by an even more triumphant resolution (plus a cameo by Matt Damon) ensures that all ends sweetly.
