Pixar and Disney finally have an ode to dealing with mental illness - a final frontier representing many who have been otherwise shunned or shamed bc of it.

Handled with grace, a decided kindness, and an incredible simplicity despite many many complications, the filmmakers have made an introduction to the subject, and done a well embellished, thoughtful adventure that engages, entertains, and offers a vulnerability and a respect for those who struggled otherwise alone.

Ellen DeGeneres plays the kind, memory-less Dory who cant find and cant remember how to get back to her parents.

Light on the sadness, and big on the wonderment, this was written and designed to simplify otherwise complex and confusing things into bite size pieces, and the whole audience - young and old - will likely be won over.

I appreciate that the Pixar film before this one Inside Out dealt with complex adult emotions in the same way, and offered a colorful, hilarious and yet poignant way to simplify the confusion and make it palatable - again for all levels to enjoy.

5 out of 5.
