Review of Finding Dory (2016) by Brad S — 12 Feb 2017
This one wasn't as good as it could have been. The animation is stunning as was to be expected, but I found the story lacking. It is very much a retread of the first film in terms of story, with one key difference, Dory is promoted to lead, and in my opinion isn't a strong enough character to support a film.
It small doses as in the first film, she was fantastic comic relief, but as the lead, the memory gimmick grows tiring very quickly. I was frequently irritated by the character. I did enjoy supporting work from Ed O'Neill, Ty Burrell, and Eugene Levy though.
Still, it is certainly worth a watch for the animation if nothing else.
