Review of Finding Dory (2016) by Brettplank — 21 Jun 2016
Very rushed movie that lacks any time for character development or story arc. The plot is littered with too many conveniences dues ex style, and it lacks the problem-solving wit of it's predecessor. It's bloated with characters we never get to really know, which is unfortunate because I did start to really like a few of them (the octopus was great.) Marlin and Nemo get way too much screen time for doing little, and their characters show off how uncomfortable the pacing and direction of the movie is. Something just felt off. I only enjoyed watching it because of forced emotions in the sake of not disturbing the happy movie-goers with their children who laughed at the slapstick humor.
I was disappointed and hoping for a bit more, and I was REALLY upset to not see any of the sharks back! Where was Bruce and his gang? They were awesome.
