Review of Finding Dory (2016) by Isaac J — 08 Aug 2016
After 13 years, a sequel for Finding Nemo has entered our cinemas, taking its most famous and memorable star on yet another precarious journey. Though Finding Dory was expected by many to resemble the countless direct to DVD sequels produced by Disney, I am glad to say that it has refuted those low expectations.
Pixar, once again, produce an outing that is visually beautiful, delightfully comedic and, at times, incredibly emotional. Though it may be shunned off as just a kid's movie, Finding Dory presents surprisingly deep messages of home and identity, beneath the colour and comedy that will appeal to the kids.
Though it won't go down in history as a Pixar masterpiece, unlike its predecessor, Finding Dory is still a pleasantly surprising gem in the 2016 animated selection.
