Some people may believe it is pro-mafia but it is not. It is pro love. Vin Diesel plays Jackie DiNorscio, who was a real person and said all those things in court. This is one of his greatest performances.
Sidney Lumet did great directing as always. Peter Dinklage and the rest of the cast were perfect. It's a great mix of comedy and drama. And importantly its real.Jackie might have been in the mob, but he loved these guys like family.
That is why he tried as much as could to get them off the hook. It's not pro mob. It's pro love.
