At risk of losing my anti-pop cred, I actually like Vin Diesel. At first Jackie D seemed way against type, but after an hour Dinorsio felt less like a hapless schumck and more like XXX on a really small scale.
It's a truly fascinating story with tons of moral ambiguity in who to "root" for, and Lumet is one of the all-time greats, but it just wasn't that great a film.
