Review of Final Girl (2015) by Crystal E — 14 Sep 2015
Yes, there was the excitement, the thrill and the tension in The Final Girl. But what I felt short to this film was it didn't explain the purpose of the main plot of the story - particularly the main reason on why Abigail Breslin's character engage to be the final girl in the lunatic but deathly game of four men.
This created a loophole to the film which by the end of watching it, I felt wanting more and I wonder it ended just like that? It badly needs a good back story to explain at least some important things in the story.
Acutally, I demand a back story because until now its story is puzzling. While Abigail Breslin shows a promising act here, one can't help but feel that this movie is just a school project with interesting casts.
Even Wes Bently and Alexander Ludwig who gave strong performances here, the film still feels lacking a good plot especially the back story or explanations. The Final Girl has a good potential to be a hit thriller movie and it could have been better if rewritten.
