*Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children Blu-Ray review*.

Well, this is kind of a touchy one. I really enjoyed the movie, but I would not classify it as a great movie. I should note right off that I love the games! I remember playing FFVII when it first came out. I loved the characters, the story everything! It was really a great game. So that could be why I enjoyed this, but for somebody who is not a fan of the FF series, might not want to even bother. Unlike FF: Spirits Within, this movie is in direct harmony with the video games (well, part 7 at least). The plot is designed for people who have played through FFVII and know and understand the characters and their relations with one another. Without that understanding...You are fucking lost when watching this! So Cloud, the main character from FFVII the game, gets involved in some crazy new plot line involving Sephiroth (Clouds arch enemy from FFVII) that basically plays out to be some kind of side adventure or sequel to the game. I mean at one point in the movie, all of these crazy looking characters start flying out of nowhere to help Cloud and its like...wtf!? who the hell are all of these people?? They all look cool, but who the hell are they? lol. The writers could have maybe done a better job re-introducing or familiarizing viewers with these characters instead of throwing it all out there like we all know about Final Fantasy already! It almost comes off as an attempt similar to Mortal Kombat Annihilation as they try to cram every character from the damn game into the damn movie! Theres a reason Final Fantasy is a video game and not a movie...because every game is over 90+ hours of play time! How are you going to try to fit that story into a 1.5 hour flick, jeez, right. Anyhow, with all of that said, Advent Children does have its up's, such as the AMAZING, and I mean A.M.A.Z.I.N.G ! with a capital A graphics and effects. I mean this movie is awesome when it comes to looks. It really is remarkable, a very nice looking movie. The fight sequences are stunning, just the explosions and magics all look awesome. All of the bike fights and chase sequences reminded me of Akira. All of the bike parts are awesome. The swords, even the items such as cell phones and stuffed dolls looked amazing! Cloud's hair, clothes everthing, looks like a whole different little plastic world like Monsters Inc. =) Some of the battles I must say are a bit drawn out and hokey, but overall the action is great. So definitely a bonus movie for fans, but non-fans beware, you are in for a ride that will contain very confusing story points, weird and quirky appearing characters and lots of things that wont make sense, but let me tell you, it will look more amazing than anything you have seen in awhile!
