Review of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) by Andrew W — 09 Jul 2009
Slapping the name Final Fantasy onto a movie instantly caught my attention. But alas, I should have known it to good to be true. I don't think anyone meant for this to be a good movie, but rather a chance to show off some amazing CGI.
The CGI is amazing, but that isn't a movie. The story was alright but the characters were bland and it seemed to drag on even though it actually wasn't that long. I think they spent too much time on making it look pretty and not on making it in any way enthralling to the audience.
One thing I really liked however was the voice acting, Alec Baldwin, James Woods, and Steve Buscemi were great.
