Review of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) by Matt H — 27 Jul 2009
It's a bit of a bimbo: nice to look at, but lacking any real substance. The animation is standard Square fare. Once you get past the fact that the actors are smack-dab in the middle of the Uncanny Valley, it really looks quite nice.
The cast is wonderful, save for the one role Square consistently miscasts- the heroine. All in all, it's fun and pretty, but beyond its importance to the animation community, there's not a lot here.
