Review of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) by Mattias K — 22 Sep 2012
Impressive CGI characters and environments have been made in this movie along with some stunning visual effects but the story leaves a lot to be desired, it might be because of some cultural difference in story telling but the narrative is flat out dull and you don't feel emotionally connected at all.
It is as if the crew made the characters and environments before and only then created a story to patch it all together. For its time and somewhat still today visually interesting and impressive but one can not find much more than that.
