Review of Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within (2001) by Luke L — 16 Sep 2009

As a big geek of the final fantasy games, I was looking forward to this film from the minute it was announced. By the time of its release, I was at fever pitch, and (most likely) annoying my friends with all the talking I did about it.

Then of course, I went, I watched and I weeped, at how much of my time I had wasted.... True the CGI was amazing (at the time), but not only did it have little to nothing in common with its computer game name sake, but had little to nothing in terms of an engaging and interesting film experience.

So I give this film two stars, one for the work put into the animation, and another for the DVD extra of seeing the cast performing "Thriller".
