Review of Final Destination 5 (2011) by Darren F — 20 Feb 2012
Its the same thing for a fifth time around. It gets alot mileage off guessing how Deaths Design takes these charachters out, and the acts themselves throw a left curve ball at you. Its visually pretty nifty, with a really cool first scene of a collapsing bridge.
But there seems to be little point in fleshing these charachters out since they for most part meet a grisly death anyways, or even adding a dramatic element since the movie seems pretty self aware of its gorey black humor throughout and how silly at this point having charachters seriously talk bout equastion of deaths design.
If you cut out the films stabs at dramatics, theres is still decent amount terror/horror moments to enjoy or get grossed out by.
