Review of Final Destination 5 (2011) by Ridge T — 23 Oct 2012
I went into this expecting nothing but pure crap but I was surprised by how good this movie actually was. So, meet Sam and his co-workers. They're heading to a company retreat but while going over a bridge under construction (that's not to smart), Sam has a premonition that the bridge collapses.
Everyone dies except Molly, his girlfriend/ex/girlfriend again. He warns everyone and they narrowly escape. But soon, death is back for them and it's not letting them go. Offering new gory, grisly deaths, this movie gave a some twists like that if you kill someone then they take your place on death's list and you gain however much life they left in them.
I though that was pretty cool. Then at the end, it was pretty much the same then it happened, "Welcome aboard, Flight 180 all over again". Turns out that this is a prequel and it led right into the first one.
I was amazed and stunned, this was a great movie after the last two installments. Solid performances, gory deaths, the return of Tony Todd, new interesting premises and twists. And for all of that, this movie get's a 5/5.
I recommend this movie highly, skip 3 and 4 and go to this one. trust me.
