Final Destination 1,2 and 3 all good; the fourth tailored off the previous three - was it lucky five for the franchise? No.

Some of the sequences leading up to the deaths are again spectacular as they always have been and the final product doesn't flatter to deceive. But the collection of films aren't getting any younger and things are becoming cliched; despite a desperate attempt to freshen matters up with the rule that you can survive by killing another civilian, it's still all too familiar.

Sam Lawton (Nicholas D'Agosto) is the innocent civilian this time round suffering the premonitions and what follows after they survive a catastrophic bridge collapse is what you expect - just with more blood curdling deaths.

Same premise - same movie. Although things are tried differently, the directors are really scraping at an empty bowl if they try and muster anything else out of this disintegrating series of movies.
