Review of Final Destination 3 (2006) by Liz — 11 Aug 2011
I was very excited to see this movie. The opening disaster was another really effective one. Also, the acting was again really good from the two leads despite the fact that most extraneous characters are, again, the stereotypical horror movie stereotypes.
I was pleasantly surprised with the staying power of this film series despite the fact that it is really predictable. Also, I don't really understand the concept of the omens introduced more in the second film.
Why does death give you clues? If you turn your brain off and just watch what is on-screen, you will no doubt be entertained. When you try to think about it, the film does appear far-fetched and dumb.
Luckily, I am quite effective at turning off my brain, so I am able to ingest the crap that this series puts out with relative ease. This film really isn't as bad as people claim it is despite the gore and lack of any real development of characters beyond their obvious stereotypes.
Overall, it entertains well and is a sufficient sequel in an apparently endless series of FINAL Destinations.
