Review of Final Destination 3 (2006) by Alana F — 25 Oct 2010
I have a soft spot for the series ever since catching the first at the cinema and loving the inventiveness of the deaths. FD3 continues the 'plot' of the series, starting off with a big set-piece (a nicely set up rollercoaster disaster) then a series of elaborate deaths for the surviving characters and for the first time ending with a big set piece (train wreck) - notice the railed vehicle theme! Most of the fun comes from working out how the characters will die and this doesnt disappoint with spot on gore and some of the best planned set pieces yet.
It also has a sting in the tail which differentiates it from the previous films. Slyly comic throughout and directed with flair (and a great carnival themed opening sequence) no real issues with any of it.
