Review of Final Destination 3 (2006) by Jonny B — 11 Aug 2011
The opening leaves a lot to be desired (it's funny they use Vancouver's corkscrew for the ominous roller coaster when it's the only ride at Playland as scary as bumper cars) after the bloody good mess of the previous instalment.
Things get better with each death upping the previous one. We have a decent and ravishing lead with Miss. Winstead who helped matters when the movie gets even more silly. The reason this surprising third instalment, in a franchise I'm indifferent to, is my favourite is in large part because of the style, tone, and feel of the movie, which opts to be a horror film not a teen slasher or action movie like the two previous chapters.
